Congenital malformations are deformities that may require surgical corrections. They are usually diagnosed antenatally (during pregnancy) or afterwards. As such conditions are uncommon but within the expertise of paediatric surgeons, early consultation at antenatal diagnosis would provide useful information for the expecting parents. Babies with such malformations are best managed by an experienced team comprising of paediatric surgeons, paediatric anesthetists and intensivists.
